Lake Brillac

LAKE UPDATE: nov 2008
Currently our lake is having an extreme makeover. During the months of November/December 2008 the lake is being drained, a new system Moine (Monk) is being installed. The work is being carried out for a number of reasons but mainly so that we can comply with French Law so we can retain our closed water fishing licence so that all anglers can legally fish 24/7, 24 hours per day 52 weeks a year. This also means that anglers do not have to purchase a seperate licence to fish our lake. (A point worth remembering when you are booking to fish a French Lake).
All nuisance fish are being removed and the lake will be restocked in the new year ready for all you guys and gals to come and fish. All snags etc are being removed from the lake bed and the banks are being tidied and sadly many trees have been cut down for safety reasons, but the bonus has been there is now more bank area for you to fish from.
Lake will be open in March 2009 and to celebrate the opening we are offering a special deal of £55.00 per angler based on a drive n survive package.
Will keep you posted on all developments
......
Cheers Steve

LAKE UPDATE: DEC 2008
Hi Guys just to give you a further update on work progress at our Lake... After alot of blood sweat and tears phew !!!
The lake is now drained and will be left open until mid Jan to kill off any potential bacteria and kill off any nuisance cray fish that may be still lurking about looking for any tasty boilies.
We netted and removed 375 carp which were a combination of mirrors and commons ( sorry guys no photos as was knee deep in mud). The approximate weights range anything from 8lb to 20lb plus. We also removed 15 very large pike, too many zanders and small roach. All the predator fish will not be put back into the lake.
Now armed with knowledge as our previous stock was unknown, we are currently under the process of ordering some large carp ranging between 30-50lb to enhance our existing stock. ( More details of the restocking will be given as we progress forward).
We have also repaired the dam wall and finished clearing the trees and work on the banks is due to start early January also all snags have been removed from the lake bed.
From the third week im January our new system moine (Monk) will be installed and we will be landscaping and replanting of trees and shrubs.
Wishing you all a Merry Xmas and Happy New Year
Look forward to seeing some of you in 2009 ( Mad March Credit Crunch buster prices on our website! Well worth a sneaky peak)
